Hi Internet Lovelies, how have you been? I am so sorry for the long time between posts, but unfortunately my laptop had a meltdown and it was in getting fixed for a couple of weeks. During that time, I had a very big scare as I was told I would lose all of my data. As you can imagine I was absolutely devastated; so before I begin, I would just like to tell you to back your data up now, and I mean NOW, because honestly, it is a horrible feeling!
Anyway, I am here to share with you about a very lovely weekend Sandhu and I shared together a couple of weeks ago. It was his birthday on November 8 and our 1 year on the 14th, so I decided to mix the two together to come up with a fantastic present that we both would love. Now I have to admit, I really did book this because I thought "wow this is beautiful, I want to go there" rather than "oh Sandhu would like this", but luckily he loved it just as much as me. Now this was a surprise, so for a while he knew that we were going away, but just had no idea where... So finally the day came and I drove us all the way into unknown ground, where we spent a very lovely night.
It was extremely lovely to spend time together with no internet or service, so we really had to see how we would get along haha.
We stayed in a beautiful treehouse that is very ethical and owned by a very lovely lady. It is in a secluded area and surrounded by trees. It is made from gorgeous wood. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it online and am so glad I decided to book it.
We arrived on the first day and unloaded before going into the small town and having lunch. The town is so very cute, and I would love to go back, even though there are only around 5 shops. We had a delicious lunch and had some of the best fries I have ever had!
It was so nice to be surrounded by greenery and nature. Im not an outdoorsy person at all, so I tend to stay away from nature, but I forget how absolutely stunning it is, let alone how relaxed and at peace it makes you feel.
Tanya, the owner welcomed us with chocolates, handmade biscuits and a lovely letter. For me this was so special, it was so sweet of her and I have kept the letter as a keepsake.
The open fire was easily one of my favourite parts. I love how the wood is around it and is just so cute.
The staircase was the most complicated staircase ever! You wouldnt want to be walking up and down there drunk, thats for sure!
I wanted to play some games, but we actually didn't find the time; but I loved that they were on offer as I think it just added to the feel of the place.
The shower was soooo relaxing and big, it was lovely to shower while surrounded by trees, Very liberating!
Our bed was a King size and so comfy. We felt very spoilt with the electric blankets.
I set up a beauty parlour in the bathroom. We enjoyed the shower with some of my favourite Lush products. Sandhu had never been pampered so much in his life, and I think he quite enjoyed it... Well he has stolen it all since!
I loved the fairy lights that were outside. They just added to the magic.
This is what I woke to. Isn't it stunning!?!
Morning coffee.
Unfortunately it rained the next day but we didn't mind one bit. It was lovely to wake up to the birds singing and the rain hitting the roof softly.
Without going into too many details, it was a very magical weekend. We came back refreshed and rejuvenated and I think that is exactly what everyone needs once in a while.
It was very romantic, and I am very happy to have spent one whole year with this wonderful man.
I challenge you to take some time out for yourself. It doesn't have to mean a weekend away but it can be as simple as setting up a beauty regime in the shower, or laying in bed with the curtains open.
I also say to you - spend a little time in nature, you don't realise how wonderful it is until you take a few moments.
But yes, it was a fantastic time for us, and exactly what the doctor ordered. It allowed us to connect in a way we haven't really before. No internet really changes things, seriously!!
It feels great to write again, and I look forward to writing again soon.
Until next time,
Lots of love, Lu xxxx
