Food may be my favourite thing in the world. I know we need it to survive but it has never failed to be my weakness. I like it so much that sometimes it gets the better of me and makes me turn down a path I don't like quite so much. While I was on my health journey last year my favourite part had to be creating delicious meals and snacks that were both good for me and satisfying and while I am now back on that wonderful track, my love of healthy, fresh food has been reignited.
I have also always been a fan of grocery shopping. I love trawling the aisles, popping delights into my trolley, so it gives me great pleasure to do my own weekly shopping full of fresh, lean and colourful foods.
It has only been a few days since I have once again started my healthy life but I already feel 100 times better and I am having so much fun planning my daily meals and snacks to nibble on. I find it so satisfying creating something that I know will both be good for my insides and taste like a dream.
I'm so excited to have summer fruits at the moment; I am adoring the stone fruits, blueberries, pineapple and berries that are so divine and gorgeous to look at. I like to eat them fresh, in smoothies, platters and my personal favourite - mixed with yummy yoghurt.
I also love smoothies with berries, oats, almond milk, and banana mmmmm. Honestly there are so many different smoothies you can make and ugh they are so delicious. Perfect for breakfast, lunch and dinner..
My current favourites foods are below -
- Brown Pasta. Perfect with tomatoes, covered with dollop of cottage cheese.
- Tuna. Great on toast, crackers or in salads.
- Cottage cheese. I could eat this stuff out of the container with a spoon. yum. My absolute favourite, so good on crackers, and on everything else you can think of.
- Almonds. These are great snacks to keep you going through the day.
I love all of these foods and after going shopping I felt inspired to write up a little post. I can't wait to share more recipes with you and hopefully take you on some great wee healthy adventures..
