A Table For One Please.
Hello Internet Lovelies. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another week ahead. If you ask me, I'd like it to be the weekend again already. 2 Days is definitely not enough!
My question today is: How often do you hang out with yourself? Sit down and read a book, watch a movie, just be alone, and content with being alone? Many people struggle with being alone, a lot of people I know like to be constantly surrounded by people, which is great, but I think it is so important to also just spend some quality time with you, and you alone.
I have always enjoyed being alone, I like the idea of lying in bed alone, watching a movie alone, walking alone, just being an individual. I still struggle sometimes to realise that, now that I have a boyfriend, I actually have to give him attention too, and I'm not just living for myself anymore. I don't think its a bad thing either, I feel that by being able to be by yourself, it means you are content, and can be happy by yourself; because if you can not be happy by yourself, how are you meant to be happy with anyone else?
I could quite happily go on a date night, and leave Sandhu behind, and I don't mean that in a nasty way, because of course I would rather him be with me, but I see nothing wrong with grabbing dinner and a movie by myself. But for some people this would be terrifying. I have talked to many people that would be scared eating alone, worried about what others are thinking, but I say stuff them, if you can be happy in your own company I think that is a great thing.
Yesterday I went to brunch by myself, took a book and a notepad to write down my thoughts and I had a wonderful time. There is nothing more relaxing that sitting down with a coffee and being absorbed by another world. I just sat there very content with everything, I didn't have to worry about making conversation or time, I just sat and sat.
Basically what I am saying is date yourself; spend some quality time with the number one person in your life - you! Give yourself time, and I guarantee you will actually have fun.
Of course you don't need to go out; have a hot bath and watch a movie, sit down in bed with a heap of your favourite foods and watch a TV show. You will be pleasantly surprised by how great it makes you feel.
So thats my challenge for the week, set yourself some time and just be you.
Until next time,
Lots of Love, Lu xxxx
