Hello Internet Lovelies, once again it has been a long time between posts but I am ready for that to change. It's summer, christmas is over, I have time and now thanks to my wonderful other half I have a beautiful camera to capture amazing moments with. Yes I finally got the camera of my dreams.. I'm a very very lucky girl.
Of course this post had to be about christmas as now it has been and gone :( I hope you all had a wonderful day full of family, food and fun. Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love to think about what everyone else gets up to on the special day, so please feel free to tell me.
This christmas was extremely special to me as in the last couple of months my mum has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time, therefore it was very important to have a great day with the people we love and care about most. Second of all it was my boyfriends very first christmas. Yes I KNOW!!!! He has never had a christmas before and I was absolutely determined to make it his best one ever.
This year I got very into the spirit and dressed up for work, had an advent calendar and used every excuse under the sun to listen to christmas music and watch christmas movies. Ever since I was yonger christmas as been extremely special to me and so this year was definitely no different.
Possibly my favourite part of the christmas preparation this year was doing my christmas shopping and wrapping the presents. There is absolutely nothing better than picking pretty paper and ribbons and wrapping the presents neatly and placing them under the tree. Then of course I love watching peoples faces as they open their presents as i wait in nervous anticipation of whether they will like them of not. Giving gifts is great. Plain and simple I love giving gifts. For me i personally like to give them all year round but it is so much fun to pick out wee things for people that you know they will love. I find there is no better feeling that watching someone enjoy the gift you carefully chose out for them.
The night before christmas eve was a very late but successful one; a few friends and I took Lillian out to see a Christmas light show in town. After getting extremely lost and driving all over the city we finally found it and all of its glory. I got straight into my happy zone and could not stop smiling. Lillian seemed to love it as well.
It was absolutely beautiful and I look forward to going back next year.
Christmas eve was also fun this year. Sandhu stayed and we all watched a movie that mum chose out. (I had higher expectations (; ) Of course then we had to put all of the presents into piles, write santa a note and leave him milk and cake and a carrot for the reindeer. I used to love doing this, so I am super happy that I still have a little sister to share it with.
Christmas morning rolled around at 4 in the morning. Lillian woke up super early and was determined to go inside to see whether santa had come. Mum said we couldn't go in before six so it was a very long wait inbetween. Sandhu thought we were absolutely crazy - It really must have been his first christmas!!
Finally it was 6am and we could head inside. The excitement continued when we realised santa had most definitely been, leaving presents and crumbs behind him.
Look how pretty the tree looked.
Christmas morning smiles.
After an hour nap everyone arrived and christmas day officially was on it's way.
Sandhu tried to get artistic.
I am obsessed with this photo.
Mum was determined not to have brandy snaps but I mean come on, christmas is not christmas without brandy snaps.
What could be better than whitebait patties for dinner after eating waaaaaaay too much.
I just can not believe how beautiful all of the photos are and I can not wait to get creative and take so many more amazing photos and videos.
This Christmas was absolutely amazing and I can not thank my family enough for the love and support they have given me. Christmas is all about spending time with loved ones and this year it was very successful in that area. We had so much fun opening presents, chatting, eating lots and lots of food and laughing. Living by the beach also has its ups as we went out on the motorbike and then sat on the beach and watched my aunty and cousins swim in the sea. We then all sat around while my aunty gave foot massages and painted everyones nails..
This christmas was very special, it is not all about the presents or the money spent; the most important thing is the people you share it with. I love my family so very much and couldn't be happier that I got to spend time with all of them.
I truly hope you all had a wonderful christmas and I look forward to talking soon.
Lots of love, good wishes and christmas cheer!
Lu xxxx
